The ocean covers 70% of our planet. Yet our understanding of it remains pitifully shallow.

That’s why the National Oceanography Centre’s work is so crucial. I helped create a new brand to unite oceanographers and ocean-lovers alike. Starting with a bold brand idea: Go Deeper.

Colour palette, patterns and illustrations were inspired by the ocean. And the logo was built around a 70/30 ratio, reflecting the ocean’s dominance over land.

I positioned NOC as the global authority on ocean science, with a tone of voice that’s crystal-clear, razor-sharp — and just witty enough to make a splash with the public.
